A much-loved interactive adventure is set to return to North Wales, as Finding Alice comes back to Llandudno this May with a completely reimagined experience for 2026.
Launching on May 2, the town-wide trail invites visitors to step into the mysterious world inspired by Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, blending storytelling, puzzles and exploration into a unique, self-guided experience.
This year’s storyline centres on Alice’s unexplained disappearance after she fails to attend her own Unbirthday Party, hosted by the Hatter. With fears that returning to Wonderland may have put her in danger, players must follow clues, solve puzzles and uncover the truth behind where she has gone.
Using a digital platform, teams will explore Llandudno, interacting with real-world locations as the story unfolds around them.
The relaunch follows a major redevelopment, with organisers promising a smoother and more immersive experience. Improvements include a new web app designed to work mostly offline, extended daily hours from 9am to 7pm, a completely redesigned route through the town, and brand-new puzzles and story elements.
Experience designer Eleanor Appleton said the team had taken on board feedback from previous years to strengthen both the technical performance and the narrative.
“We’ve done a deep dive into redevelopment this year to create a robust, engaging and narratively strong experience,” she said.
The activity draws on Llandudno’s unique connection to the Alice in Wonderland story. Author Lewis Carroll – whose real name was Charles Lutwidge Dodgson – is known to have regularly visited the seaside town in the 1860s. It is widely believed that the real-life inspiration for Alice, Alice Liddell, also holidayed in Llandudno, helping to cement the town’s long-standing association with the famous tale.
Today, that link is celebrated across the resort, with Alice-themed trails, sculptures and attractions dotted around the town, making it a fitting setting for an immersive adventure based on the story.
Finding Alice transforms those familiar streets into an interactive playground, offering both residents and visitors a chance to experience Llandudno in a completely different way.
With its refreshed format and deeper storytelling, organisers hope the 2026 edition will attract both returning players and newcomers eager to step into Wonderland.
The experience opens on May 2 and will run seven days a week throughout the season. Find out more by visiting the website www.finding-alice.com.
