Rhyl's big New Years Day dip has been sadly cancelled due to concerns about the bad weather.

A spokesperson for the organisers Rhyl RNLI said: "Unfortunately we have had to take the decision to postpone tomorrows New Years Day RNLI Rhyl Festive Dip, due to the weather, for the safety of all involved and taking part.

"Forecasts currently show sustained gusts of over 35 knots of wind from the West/North West direction, which will create large waves on the beach.

The event will be postponed until St Davids Day, 1st March 2025. More details for the new date, and refunds for those who have pre-registered will follow shortly on the RNLI Rhyl Facebook page.
