Police are extending a warning into North Wales as incidents of fuel theft have increased in the North West of England and across the country in general.
As visitor numbers to North Wales increases and fuel prices remain high, officers believe that North Wales could be a lucrative place for thieves to steal petrol and diesel. Local people's vehicles are equally vulnerable to thieves whilst parked outside homes.
It is though that vehicles that may be static for a number of days such as camper vans and tourers on camp sites could be a prime target and a way for thieves to easily syphon a large quantity of fuel with little effort.
This weekend with the Llandudno Extravaganza in full flow and many camp sites already booked up, all visitors are being reminded that investing in a heavy duty lockable fuel cap would be a great investment to deter opportunists.
Lockable fuel caps are available from most good motoring shops and from locally in Llandudno from Halfords on Mostyn Champney's retail park.
