Llandudno RNLI's All-Weather Lifeboat (ALB) helped a fishing vessel experiencing engine troubles near the Great Orme on Tuesday.
The 13-tonne vessel had dropped anchor after encountering mechanical difficulties amid strong westerly winds, with gusts reaching Force 7 to 8. The lifeboat crew responded swiftly, reaching the vessel just 20 minutes after the distress call.
While the lifeboat had made its way to the vessel, the fishing crew had managed to restart their engine. As a precaution, the lifeboat team readied a towline on their stern in case further issues arose.
The fishing boat then retrieved its anchor and began the return journey to Conwy under their own steam, closely monitored by the lifeboat.
Llandudno ALB escorted the vessel back to Conwy without incident, ensuring the crew’s safety throughout.
Coxswain Graham Heritage said: "The crew responded quickly and professionally in challenging conditions. Although the vessel had restarted its engine, we stayed close to ensure their safe return."
