Four men from the West Midlands have today been sentenced to a total of more than 17 years having perpetrated an aggravated burglary in Colwyn Bay.
During the early hours of 27th August last year, four men forced their way into a house after travelling from the Wolverhampton area, threatening the occupants with weapons, one of whom was subjected to a serious assault.
Officers responded quickly to the incident and were able to surround and locate the men shortly after the call was made to the police.
Two of the four men entered guilty pleas to aggravated burglary whilst the other two entered guilty pleas for burglary.
Central CID Civilian Investigator Helen Thorneycroft supported the victims throughout and was able to secure convictions based on the strong weight of evidence.
Today at Caernarfon Crown Court, Shan Ullah (28) of New Hampton Road East, Wolverhampton was sentenced to two years for burglary, Sina Soran (19) of Glaisdale Gardens, Wolverhampton was jailed for sixteen months also for burglary, Muneeb Habib (26) of Dunston Hill Wolverhampton was sentenced to 6 years 9 months for aggravated burglary, and 31 year old Mohammed Khan of Jameson Street Wolverhampton was jailed for 7 years and 6 months for aggravated burglary.
Speaking after sentencing, Detective Inspector Kris Williams said: “This was a heinous and cowardly attack on the victims whilst they slept. Swift action and a co-ordinated response ensured that the offenders have been brought to justice.
"I welcome today's sentences, and this should serve as a warning to criminals from out of the area intent on causing harm to the people of West Conwy that we will not tolerate any criminal activity that impacts upon our community.”
