Tributes have been paid to a "loving dad, son and uncle" after a man died following a tragic incident at Llyn Geirionydd near Trefriw.
Emergency services were called to the lake on Sunday evening, July 19, after reports that a man had gone missing in the water. A major search operation was launched involving North Wales Police, specialist rescue teams and other emergency services.
Earlier this week, police confirmed that a body had been recovered from the lake. The man has now been named as 34-year-old Nathan Jones, from Llandudno.
Heartfelt tributes have been shared by family members, who described Nathan as a caring and kind person who would do anything for anyone.
In a message posted online, his sister Lindsey Jones said: "It's with deepest sadness and heartbreak I tell you that Nathan Jones has passed away far too young at the age of 34.
"He was a loving, caring, kind soul and would do anything for anyone. Nathan loved everybody in his life and nobody ever had a bad word to say about him. He was funny, outgoing and also very cheeky."
She added: "Nathan was a loving dad to Theo, Noah and Eva, a loving son and uncle and had a heart of gold. We are going to miss him more than words can ever say."
The family said they are devastated by the loss and have asked for privacy as they come to terms with what has happened.
A fundraising page has been launched to help cover funeral costs, with loved ones hoping to give Nathan "the biggest send-off" possible.
Llyn Geirionydd, a popular beauty spot in the Conwy Valley above Trefriw, attracts visitors throughout the year for walking, swimming and outdoor activities. Sunday's incident prompted a large-scale emergency response, with search teams working into the evening.
North Wales Police have previously confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner.
Nathan's family said his memory would live on through the many people whose lives he touched.
"He deserved the world," they said. "We as a family want to give it to him."
