Get spring cleaning to help fill St. David's Hospice funding

May 25, 2020 - 827 views

In this era of self-isolation and home working, it would be an opportune time to have a leisurely spring clean and declutter say the fundraisers at St. David's Hospice.

As well as being a good cathartic task, it’s a great way to support them in their bid to fill a one million pound funding gap.

St David’s Hospice has 26 shops across the counties of Conwy, Gwynedd and Anglesey. Thanks to the continued support of the community and the generosity of excellent quality donations from the public, the Hospice shops produce a vital stream of predictable, sustainable income for the Hospice.

St David’s Head of Retail and Facilities Janet Magill said: “Unfortunately we have had to close all our shops and Donation Centres, in line with COVID19 guidelines and they remain closed until we get the go ahead to re-open.

"This is a huge loss in income and the devastating break-in of our Donation Centre in Mochdre in April has left our stock levels are low.”

“We would really appreciate if the local community could set aside your pre-loved items for St David’s Hospice. Please don’t send it to landfill when the recycling centres open. Hold on to the saleable items for a little bit longer and help our shops raise much-needed cash for local hospice care.

Gift Aid is a scheme that allows charities to reclaim tax on a donation made by a UK taxpayer, which means your donations will be worth 25% more to the charity at no extra cost to you. If you Gift Aid your donations St David’s Hospice can claim back from the government 25p for every £1 raised.
