Author and podcast host Giovanna Fletcher has been crowned the very first Queen of the Castle in the public vote on 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here' earlier tonight.
The popular ITV series concluded with a look back at three weeks of amazing and sometimes gut-wrenching moments at Abergele's Gwyrch Castle with Giovanna and Jordan North in the final two. Moments before it was confirmed that Vernon Kay took third place.
Earlier in the show, Giovanna took on Frightening Feast as her final trial to try and win stars for camp to provide main meals for the final dinner. She had to eat fermented duck egg, a cow’s nose, raw fish eye, sheep’s testicle and bull’s penis.
Not to be outdone, Jordan took on Iron Maiden as his final Trial to try and win stars for camp to provide desserts for the final dinner.
It was an endurance trial and he had to be locked inside a cage for 10 minutes as snakes joined him. For every 2 minutes he endured he would win a star for camp. The first 3 stars for desserts, the fourth star for a drink and the fifth and final star for a treat of his choice.
As he was placed in the cage, Jordan said: “Oh god, it’s a snake. Happy place. Happy place! I’m going to be drinking gin with Bev in Spain.” Conquering his fear Jordan managed to successfully complete the trial and collect the stars.
This year's series which has taken place outside Australia for the very first time, has not only been a ratings winner for ITV but has also helped highlight the work of the Gwrych Castle Trust and their aim to fully restore the castle.
It has also provided a lifeline for many local firms and people impacted by the coronavirus restrictions as producers kept true to their promise to offer much of the behind-the-scenes work to businesses in Conwy and Denbighshire.
After achieving some of the best audience figures for the series which are important for ITV's advertisers in the lead up to Christmas, speculation has been mounting that the castle may be the location for the 202. Sadly I'm A Celebrity producers have remained tight lipped on the possibility.
