Traffic chaos ensued on the A55 Eastbound between Junction 22 and 23 near Old Colwyn earlier due to an incident involving a livestock transporter. Routes in many different directions were seriously impacted.
Traffic was so heavy that delays were felt Westbound and traffic officers were forced to hold vehicles on the A55 at the Rainbow Bridge near to Old Colwyn to let local roads recover.
Delays and 45-minute tailbacks were experienced at Glan Conwy Corner and the Black Cat roundabout, leading to gridlock at the junction with the A470.
Heavy traffic was reported through Colwyn Bay town centre but eased by early afternoon.
