Gwion Dafydd scored four goals, including a first half hat-trick, as Colwyn Bay made it 11 games unbeaten with a 5-0 victory away to Guilsfield.

Craig Lindfield came off the bench to score the fifth goal to mark his 50th appearance for the club.

Gwion becomes the first Bay player to score four goals in a game since James Kirby did it in a 6-2 win at Llanrhaeadr YM in November 2021 and the Bay have now hit 24 goals in their last five fixtures.

Second-in-the-table Seagulls move five points clear of third-placed Holywell Town, who lost at home to Flint Mountain.

Colwyn Bay started well with Dan Atkins heading an early chance over the bar and were ahead on 18 minutes when great play by Josh Carey and Ethan Roberts down the left saw Ethan beat his man and put the ball on a plate for Gwion Dafydd to score from two yards out.

Rhys Williams had to make a good save to prevent the home side equalising, but Sol Forde headed just wide following a corner and Guilsfield keeper Luke Evans made a great save from Josh Carey’s shot from 25 yards, before Gwion doubled the lead, curling a shot into the bottom corner from Jay Owen’s pass.

Right on half-time Jamie Cumming was brought down in the area and Gwion completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot.

Early in the second half Gwion had the ball in the net again, but was flagged offside, and Lewis Sirrell made a good block to stop Guilsfield getting a goal back.

Gwion Dafydd made it 4-0 with his fourth on 76 minutes with another great finish from just inside the area.

Rhys Williams made a good low save to protect Bay’s second successive clean sheet before the ball feel to Crain Lindfield near the penalty spot for him to get the fifth goal in added time.
