New cases of COVID-19 in Wales reached 141 during the past day and to illustrate how the virus is beginning to peak, data shows that over half of all Wales cases have come from North Wales.

In the Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board region, 58% of new cases have been reported from the Conwy and Denbighshire local authority areas. Conwy recorded 16 new cases and Denbighshire 12. Wrexham experienced a spike of 22 new cases, the highest of all the local authorities.

Dr Giri Shankar, Incident Director for the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak response at Public Health Wales, said: “Social distancing rules remain in effect. Public Health Wales fully supports Welsh Government’s revised stay-at-home regulations.

"The message has not changed – anyone can get Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), anyone can spread it. Stay home, protect the NHS, and save lives."
