Conwy's headteachers have today written an open letter to Year 11 pupils to congratulate them on the awarding on their GCSE grades.

As well as expressing their thanks for all the hard work that pupils had put into their work, they also commented on the maturity that pupils had shown during an unsettling year.

We write this joint letter as Conwy Heads to recognise the collective endeavours of all our year 11 pupils this year. We are very proud of all the hard work that our pupils have put into their GCSE studies, and their maturity, resilience and perseverance in the light of an unprecedented and unexpected year.

We are delighted with their achievements and wish them all the best in their future pathways: in 6th form, college, apprenticeships or work. We know that their experiences at our schools over the years have helped prepare them for the challenges and successes that lie ahead of them.

We would also like to recognise the hard work of our staff in preparing all our pupils and ensuring that this year’s very different assessment processes were met. We thank our parents, communities and governors for their support in ensuring the achievements and success of all our pupils.

Well done, year 11, and all the best for your future successes!

Yours sincerely,
