Following a number of call outs from people stranded on the sand banks along West Shore recently, local lifeboat and coastguard teams conducted a training session yesterday to check out out the area given the changes to these shifting banks.
One of the helms at Llandudno Lifeboat, Danny, captured this footage in real time to show just how fast the tide comes in, cutting off the banks from the shore and how quickly they become fully submerged.
“The UK and Ireland have some of the biggest tidal ranges in the world. To avoid getting cut off by the tide before you head out, make sure it's safe, check the tide tables and while you're out, be aware of your surroundings and the tide's direction.
"With this warm weather set to continue, enjoy our beautiful coast but please check our local tide times and be safe."
