Brave Kathy Cassidy, 55 from Deganwy recently had her head shaved in memory of her mum Marjorie Cassidy to raise funds for St David’s Hospice.
The hair-raising fundraising event took place at Mirrors Hair and Beauty in Llandudno and she collected sponsorship totalling an outstanding £1,560. Kathy’s mother Marjorie passed away in November 2018.
Kathy said:“The care given to my mum was amazing. She loved it in St David’s Hospice; she was treated like a Queen.
“Mum was in the Hospice for two weeks and the nurses helped prepare me for her passing and that was a comfort.
“I’ve been here for 32 years in Mirrors. When my clients and family heard what I was doing they really got behind me.
“I want the funds and awareness I raise to keep up the high standard of care that St David’s give.
“My husband said our time there was a happy and joyful whilst mum was there and that’s what I want everyone to understand that the Hospice isn’t scary, it’s a wonderful place.”
