The new constituency of Clwyd North has its first Labour MP Gill German following the declaration in Denbigh on Friday morning.
Gill German received 14,794 votes against second placed Conservative candidate Darren Millar who received 13,598 votes.
Mr. Millar is currently Senedd member for Clwyd West and will continue to represent the Conservatives in the Welsh Parliament. Had Mr. Millar secured the Westminster seat, he would have been required to resign his seat in the Senedd.
Jamie Orange for Reform took 7,000 of the votes.
The seat which formed during the boundary changes this year is new. Locally, David Jones was the Member of Parliament for the former Clwyd West constituency but announced he retirement ahead of the 2024 election.
