Llandudno lifeboat was launched yesterday in response to a kayaker who got into difficulty in Great Orme cove.
Holyhead Coastguard alerted the team at 1.08 pm on Sunday 13th June requesting them to launch and proceed to the area between the Pier and Pigeon’s Cove on the Great Orme.
Llandudno’s RNLI inshore lifeboat Dr Barbara Saunderson made way as quickly as possible to the location and established with the casualty that he was able to re float his kayak and re-join his friends who had been monitoring his situation offshore. The lifeboat then returned to the Llandudno Lifeboat Station to prepare for future launches.
A lifeboat spokesperson explained, "This turned out to be a relatively straight forward service, we were happy to find the kayaker was ready to continue with his activity and re-join the group he was with.
"They were all well prepared and had dealt with the situation as sensibly as they could. We were also grateful to a local vessel who had remained on location to monitor until the lifeboat arrived."
