Llandudno's lifeboat was called out earlier today to attend an incident off Rhos-on-Sea following a request from the Holyhead Coastguard.

At 15.47pm, Llandudno’s RNLI volunteer crew were required to go to the assistance of a 28ft fishing vessel which had suffered mechanical failure and was stranded approx. four miles North of Rhos on Sea on the Constable Bank.

Arriving at the location, Llandudno Lifeboat William F Yates was able to establish that the fishermen on board were both fit and well although unfortunately their boat was beyond immediate repair.

The Coxswain made the decision that a tow was necessary and also the safest way to assist the casualty vessel.  After securing a towline the Llandudno Lifeboat proceeded to Rhos on Sea Harbour.

The lifeboat then returned to the Llandudno Lifeboat Station to prepare for future launches.
