Listeners and locals 'clear out cupboards for Christmas'

Organisers of a special Christmas campaign supported by Bayside Radio say they have had phenomenal response to the appeal and would like to thank everyone who took part.
The Disability Resource Centre based at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd asked listeners to “clear our their cupboards for Christmas” and donate any non-perishable food items which they would not use and drop it off at a number of locations across the locality.
All donations were then delivered to Hope Restored for distribution to the homeless community and people in need right across the area. The amount of food and toiletries which was collected went well beyond the amount collected last year.
Annette Lees from the Disability Resource Centre said how pleased she was the response. "The photo here doesn't quite do justice to the amount of food collected."
"This week we picked up the donations and went through them to make sure all items were in date and found very few to be out of date, By clearing out their cupboards people have kindly donated to charity and reduced food waste at the same time. I would like to thank everyone for their kind donations."
