Staff from B&Q in Llandudno have helped brighten the gardens at children's hospice Tŷ Gobaith, donating their time and materials to improve the outdoor space for children and their families.
A team of six visited the hospice on Monday, 5 October, using their annual Community Day to carry out planting, groundwork and painting.
The visit was part of B&Q's Community Days programme, which encourages store teams to put their practical skills to use supporting local charities and community projects. Activities can include gardening, decorating and improving shared spaces, with staff volunteering their time to make a difference in the areas where they live and work.
The Llandudno team also donated the materials needed for the work, along with extra plants and compost for the hospice's regular volunteer gardeners.
Among the improvements were colourful new flower beds, freshly created planters and weatherproofed benches, helping to keep the gardens welcoming throughout the year.
Joe Brent, B&Q's Trading Team Manager, said it had been a pleasure to help at Tŷ Gobaith and praised the work the hospice does for the community.
He said gardens could provide comfort for children and families facing difficult times, adding that the team had enjoyed creating colourful flower beds and protecting the outdoor seating so it could be enjoyed throughout the year.
Jeff Roberts, Tŷ Gobaith's Senior Maintenance Officer, thanked Joe and the team for donating both their time and materials.
He said the hospice relied on volunteers to help maintain the gardens as peaceful places for the children and families who use its services.
