Llandudno Coastal Rescue team experience busy weekend

December 09, 2024 - 945 views

A busy weekend was had for the Llandudno Coastal Rescue team getting called out several times to reports of boats adrift at Conwy and to a stranded dolphin on the North Shore.

The loose boats were eventually brought under control and made as safe as possible by their owners whilst the team provided safety cover should anything untoward happen.

A spokesperson said: "We also brought the stranded Common Dolphin ashore in order for it to receive treatment by our friends from British Divers Marine Life Rescue.

"Whilst out and about in the strong winds this weekend we have come across several people engaging in water side activities whilst not wearing lifejackets. We would always advise people taking part in any activities on or near the sea to wear a life jacket,  whatever the weather and whatever the level of experience."

If you are aware of anyone in any danger or distress around the coast, please call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
