Last week marked a momentous occasion as the RNLI celebrated its 200th year with a magnificent garden party at Buckingham Palace. The event was attended by approximately 2,500 dedicated volunteers, staff, and their families, all coming together to honor the incredible legacy of the RNLI.

The momentous gathering was graced by the presence of HRH The Princess Royal, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, and RNLI President HRH The Duke of Kent. The garden party brought together individuals from various roles within the charity, including lifeboat crew, lifeguards, water safety volunteers, fundraisers, as well as recipients of meritorious service awards and honors.

Among the distinguished attendees were representatives from Llandudno RNLI, each recognised for their long-standing dedication to the organization. Crew member Davey Roberts was honored for his remarkable 40 years of service, while 2nd Coxswain Tim James, Launch Authority Paul Moreton, and Shop Volunteer Gill Baggs were recognised for their 20 years of unwavering commitment to the RNLI.

The RNLI 200th Anniversary Garden Party was a truly special occasion, celebrating the selfless contributions and heroic efforts of those who continue to uphold the RNLI's mission of saving lives at sea.

Tim James says “We are incredibly honored to have been part of such a prestigious event. It was a truly unforgettable experience that will stay with us for a lifetime.”
