Conwy Golf Club and its members have raised over £4300 towards end-of-life services in North West Wales.

During Club Captain, Mike Jones’ term in 2022, members of the club held a number of competitions to raise funds for St David’s Hospice. These included having collections on Captain’s Day as well as other fundraisers throughout the year organised by club officials.

The total donations raised were matched during The Big Give campaign, meaning their donation was doubled to a fantastic total of £4300.

St David’s Hospice Fundraising Manager, Adrian Owen said, “We would like to thank the officials, management, and members of Conwy Golf Club for generously supporting St David’s Hospice during 2022 and in previous years.

“My particular thanks to Mike Jones, 2022 Club Captain for the time and effort he has put in by supporting events and collections during his Captaincy year.

“The term has raised such a huge amount, which will go a long way to providing care and support for patients and their families. Without the backing of the local community such as the Conwy Golf Club, the work the Hospice undertakes would simply not be possible, so thank you!!”

St David’s Hospice is a local charity the provides end of life care and support to people with life limiting illnesses and their families and carers across Anglesey, Conwy and Gwynedd. Each year the charity need £6 million to provide these services, and only a small percentage is provided by the Welsh Government and Local Health Board.
