Detectives investigating a series of keyless car thefts across the Conwy and Denbighshire areas have today charged a man in connection with the incidents.

Tomas Politovas aged 34 of Kettering Road, Northampton has been charged with conspiracy to commit vehicle thefts between the 22nd February and 22nd March.

He is also charged with possessing a knife in a public place, use of apparatus for the purpose of interfering with wireless telegraphy and possession of Cannabis.

He will appear at Llandudno Magistrates Court tomorrow, March 24th 2025.

The charges relate to a series of keyless vehicle thefts over recent weeks across Prestatyn, Rhyl, Abergele, Penrhyn Bay, Llandudno and Llandudno Junction areas.

Detective Constable Ashley Davies from Central CID said “I would urge owners of vehicles with keyless entry and start to continue to be vigilant, particularly owners of BMW and Mercedes vehicles.

“Owners are advised to ensure that vehicles are locked, and to utilise anti-theft car key pouches also known as ‘Faraday Pouches’ which prevents this type of keyless vehicle crime.

“We will continue to proactively target individuals travelling into North Wales to commit criminality of this nature, and enquiries are on-going to further identify and target those involved”.
