A 42-year-old man has been charged with public order offences that were reported in Llandudno overnight.

Terrence Sarjantson, of Maes Yr Orsedd, Llandudno, was arrested by officers yesterday and later charged in connection with the incidents.

His arrest followed reports of a male behaving suspiciously at the Asda store in Llandudno, and subsequently in the Ffordd Las area of the town.

Sgt Becca Southworth said: "We are aware of reports on social media, in which local residents have expressed concern about a male approaching schoolchildren in an inappropriate manner yesterday evening.

"Officers acted swiftly and arrested a male on suspicion of these public order offences.

"We understand that incidents of this nature can cause concern within the community, particularly among parents and carers.

"Please be assured that we take all reports extremely seriously. Our policing response to any allegation involving the safety of children will always be swift, robust and proportionate.

"We continue to urge anyone who witnesses suspicious or concerning behaviour to report it to us immediately.
"Your safety, and the safety of our young people, remains our priority."

Sarjantson has been released on conditional police bail and will now appear at Llandudno Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, 14 January 2026.
