A West-end surgery has reported a very successful weekend vaccinating patients along with other local practices.
On Saturday, Colwyn Bay's Rysseldene Surgery, Llys Meddyg, and Gyffin Surgery teamed up to organize and staff a covid mass vaccination event in Venue Cymru Llandudno, for their patients aged over 80 years old.
Despite the wintery weather, a total of 901 patients were vaccinated throughout the day, with approximately 550 Rysseldene patients receiving their vaccination. All patients were vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine.
The day ran extremely well, despite some staff and patients members either being delayed or unable to make it due to the challenging weather conditions.
The surgery has thanked everyone involved in the weekend. "We would like to thank all surgery and Health Board staff that gave up their Saturday to work to vaccinate on mass and all patients for their good spirits and well wishes.
"In addition, the surgery would like to thank the staff in the mass vaccination centre for their support, the RAF, and all volunteers that helped chaperone patients and ensure that they were feeling well following the vaccine.
"Special mention to Geraint Davies, who drove the volunteers car for patients unable to make it to MVC by any other means."
The surgery has confirmed that the ages currently being vaccinated are 75-79 year old patients, 70-74 year olds and Clinically Extremely Vulnerable patients who are shielding.
