Following a brilliant start to the season, the Colwyn Bay FC Academy are looking to bolster and reshuffle their staff.

Lee Bubb will continue in his role as Foundation Head of Phase, which has gone from strength to strength under his guidance and professional application.

Clive Rushton, is moving from Youth Head of Phase to work alongside Matt Sampson as Assistant Academy Director, and in his place Mark Orme has returned back to the club as Youth Head of Phase to take over the sterling work already carried out by Clive Rushton.

Mark was previously at the club as first team assistant manager to Craig Hogg, before leaving to concentrate on a career in player development and coach education.

Matt Sampson, Academy Director said: "I am delighted to welcome Mark Orme on board in a great role for him. I am all for development, not just of the players but the coaches as well.

"After few conversations with Mark, it was clear we have the same ethos and values when it comes to football development and that is key to work with us as an Academy Leadership group.

"Even though Clive is not going anywhere, I do want to place my thanks on him for what a fantastic platform he has levelled within the Youth Phase, and now as Assistant Academy Director, he will be working closely with me in applying all of his knowledge across all of the Academy - not just the ages of U12-U16.

"Furthermore, he will still be available for contact to all players, parents and coaches and those relationships don't just disappear overnight. He will also remain the point of contact for all fixtures with other Academies, something he is excellent at, and we are very fortunate to have his skillset within the Academy.

"I feel we now have a complete set of the correct building block to carry on moving forwards with what has already been a very successful turnaround for the Academy in recent times. "

Mark Orme commented:  "I am really happy to be back at the club and extremely grateful for the opportunity that has been given to me.

"I found the last 12 months or so without football difficult, and instead concentrated mostly on work and family. However, once I spoke with Matt, I quickly got the bug back, as it is clear we share the same values around the importance of player development and providing opportunities for young people to thrive and grow as people and footballers.

"It is clear to see the strides the academy has made under his leadership and I look forward to working with him and the other coaches moving forward.

"In particular I look forward to working again with Clive, for whom I have the utmost respect, in everything he has done within academy football."
