McCready goal nets Colwyn Bay a 'Derby' draw

The Seagulls were unable to end their season on a winning note as they were held to a 1-1 draw in the Good Friday ‘derby’ at Conwy Borough.

They went behind early in the game to a Iolo Hughes goal, but equalised on 23 minutes with skipper Tom McCready scoring from 20 yards for his ninth goal of the campaign.

Bay dominated for spells but couldn’t take their chances to force a win James Kirby and substitutes Ash Woods and Sam Jones having chsnces.

At the other end Jordan Carrington made a last ditcg tackle in the penalty area to prevebt a Conwy attack, The result sees Bay fourth in the table.

Sam Downey made his first senior start since breaking his leg in January and played 45 minutes before being replaced by Kieran Evans for the second half.
