Motorcyclist, 61, dies after collision near Beddgelert

A 61-year-old man has died following a single-vehicle collision involving a motorbike in the Beddgelert area of North Wales.

Officers from North Wales Police were called shortly after 11.30am on Thursday 25 June to reports of a collision on the road between Nantmor and Nant Gwynant.

The incident involved a BMW GS motorcycle with Irish registration plates. Despite the efforts of emergency services at the scene, the rider was pronounced dead.

A spokesperson for the Roads Crime Unit confirmed that enquiries are ongoing and appealed for witnesses who may have been travelling in the area at the time.

Sergeant Simon Hughes said: “My thoughts remain with the man’s family at this difficult time.

“I am appealing to anybody who was driving along Beddgelert road yesterday morning and saw or has dashcam footage of a BMW GS motorcycle with Irish plates to come forward.

“Anybody with information that could assist our enquiries can contact us quoting reference O099561.”

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision and are urging anyone with relevant information or footage to assist.
