A major emergency response was launched on the Great Orme in Llandudno after a car crashed through a wall and went down a steep hillside.
Llandudno Coastguard was called out yesterday alongside multiple emergency services, including North Wales Police, North Wales Fire and Rescue Service, the Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust, Wales Air Ambulance, Conwy Lifeboat and RNLI Llandudno Lifeboat.
It is understood a vehicle was seen being driven erratically around the summit of the Great Orme and surrounding farmland shortly before the incident.
Police were alerted at around 11am after the vehicle collided with fences and walls before crashing through a wall on the Marine Drive toll road and falling down the steep slope.
Coastguard teams deployed their rope rescue system in an effort to reach and extract the casualty, but a medical decision was made that a helicopter evacuation would provide the safest option.
Llandudno Coastguard said they worked with the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre in Holyhead to request a Coastguard helicopter to assist with the rescue.
The casualty was eventually transferred to an ambulance and taken to Glan Clwyd Hospital for further treatment.
A spokesperson for Llandudno Coastguard said the incident highlighted the importance of different emergency services working together.
"This was a good example of a multi-agency response, with all agencies working closely together in the best interests of the casualty," they said.
North Wales Police are now appealing for anyone with information, particularly photographs or video footage of the incident, to come forward.
The Great Orme is one of North Wales’ most popular visitor attractions, with Marine Drive providing a dramatic coastal route around the headland and attracting thousands of visitors each year.
Anyone who witnesses someone in danger or distress around the coast is reminded to call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
