North Wales Crusaders head coach Anthony Murray wants his side to enjoy Sunday’s League 1 play-off with Doncaster at Stadiwm Zip World.
After losing 28-14 to Keighley Cougars in Colwyn Bay last weekend, Crusaders will get another bite of the cherry as they host Doncaster.
Murray hopes his side have learned from the experience and is calling on them to focus on themselves.
He said: “We’ve just got to learn from it and start better than we did against Keighley. Our start wasn’t the best, we gave them far too much possession and I think that knocked our energy levels later on in the game.
“We gave a really good account of ourselves, trailed by just two points on 70 minutes and, if we had taken our chances, we could’ve run out winners.
“We had a lot of young players out there who hadn’t experienced that type of game before, but now they’ve tasted it. We just need to make sure we go back to doing the things that got us here by having a lower error count, completing high and kicking and chasing well.
“It’ll be a tough game as they probably would’ve wanted to finish higher in the table and will want to progress to the next stage of the play-offs.”
Crusaders were cheered on by a vocal crowd in the play-off with Keighley and Murray believes that will be key once again this weekend.
He said: “They’ve got behind us all year and I really hope they support us with one more push. It’s our last home match and we need them to be our 18th man like they always are.
“Hearing the atmosphere in the stadium really helps spur on the lads when they need it most.”
Tickets for Crusaders’ play-off with Doncaster are £12 for adults, £10 for concessions and £5 for U16s.
