Pupils across Conwy are being reminded to take their school or college bus passes with them when they return to school this September.
Conwy County Borough Council says its ‘no pass, no travel’ policy will be enforced from the first day of term, with passes required for every journey on school and college transport.
The policy is intended to make sure every pupil entitled to transport has a seat and that buses do not become overcrowded.
Cllr Aaron Wynne, Conwy's Cabinet Member for Education, said the reminder was particularly important at the start of a new school year, when there are new users of school transport.
He said the council had been working with schools and parents to ensure pupils understood the arrangements.
The council is also reminding pupils to use their designated bus.
Where two buses operate on the same route, pupils may be tempted to catch whichever one arrives later, but the council says this can result in overcrowding.
Bus passes are colour coded and display the pupil's name and the number of their designated bus.
The council says the arrangements are designed to ensure pupils can travel safely in their own seat and with a seatbelt.
