Influential George Verwer goes worldwide on Sunday Service

January 30, 2021 - 1755 views

This Sunday, as part of a continuing series featuring esteemed guests from the world of worship, prayer and faith, Bayside Radio's Jeff Pearson welcomes George Verwer founder and former International Director of Operation Mobilisation.

George led Operation Mobilisation for over 40 years before stepping down in 2003.

He has a burning passion for vital, propagating and revolutionary Christianity in his own life and in those he meets. George was saved at the age of 16 at a rally in which Billy Graham was the speaker in Madison Square Garden and within a year, 200 of his classmates found a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

George had a growing conviction to share the word of God on foreign soil and it started with the distribution of Gospels of John in Mexico along with two friends.

He met his wife Drena while at the Moody Bible Institute and they moved to Spain where in 1961 the work of Operation Mobilisation was born. Today OM reaches across the world in 110 nations through their working ship Logos Hope.

On the Sunday Service from 10.00am George Verwer hosts a special sermon and reflects on today's world.

Then later on in All Things Gospel from 8.00pm, he returns to discuss the international work of Operation Mobilisation and his life.

Listen in on 87.7FM in the Bay of Colwyn, on DAB Digital Radio across North West Wales and worldwide on the web.

You can also catch up with both programmes shortly after they broadcast on the Listen section of the Bayside Radio website.
