PC Ted made a little boy’s birthday very special when he turned up at his Conwy home.
Under normal circumstances Oliver Perry would have celebrated his 8th birthday with family and friends at Ysgol Gogarth in Llandudno, but as it was not possible his gran decided to contact the West Conwy Policing team to ask for help.
So when PC Ted turned up with arms full of balloons, cards, badges and a cake Oliver, who suffers with cerebral palsy, could not believe his eyes.
“He was absolutely amazed,” said his mum, Liz Perry.
“In the past Oliver has had some bad dealings with the police, but this made him realise that they do good things.”
“The officers made such an effort. It was such a nice treat for him. They were all fantastic and we can’t thank them enough.”
Adding her thanks to Penmaenmawr Cards and Gifts for donating the balloons and Tesco for donating the cake, Sgt Kim Owen, who was responsible for organising the surprise said: “It was a pleasure to do this special visit. The family appeared to be really happy at us visiting while little Oliver didn’t stop smiling the whole time we were there.”
“When I was contacted by Oliver’s Grandmother asking if we could attend, we were more than happy to arrange to see him and to be a part of his birthday. We just tried to make it a little special in these circumstances.”
