Seven members of the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue team were requested to attend at Betws-y-Coed on Friday following a serious incident.
The team received a request from North Wales Police to assist with a pedestrian who had fallen approximately 50ft over a wall off the A5 near to the former Silver Fountain pub.
The person, who suffered significant back and leg injuries, was on steep terrain and could not move.
The Welsh Ambulance and North Wales Fire Services were quickly in attendance.
A statement confirmed that the team was gathering to deploy with technical rope rescue equipment but stood down as the rescue services managed to recover the casualty onto the road.
The pedestrian was taken to hospital where their condition is not yet known.
