The leader of the Welsh Conservatives and Clwyd West MS Darren Millar is once again backing 'Small Business Saturday' by encouraging consumers in Conwy and Denbighshire to shop local and support small businesses in their communities.
This Saturday is Small Business Saturday 2025 in the UK, a campaign which takes place on the first Saturday in December each year, celebrating the UK's 5.45 million small businesses and calling on people to use them.
Many small businesses take part in the day by hosting events and offering discounts.
Mr. Millar said: "I have always supported this campaign, recognising the many benefits of shopping local. It not only keeps more money, jobs and vibrancy in our communities, it often provides shoppers with a choice of unique goods and services and a more personal shopping experience.
"Some of these smaller businesses also trade online, so for those who can’t get out or simply don’t have the time to visit our town centres, there is still the option to support local small businesses.
"These small and medium businesses are especially important drivers of growth and job creation in rural areas of Wales, where larger firms are less present."
He added: "Small businesses really are the backbone of local communities, and it is vital they are given the support they need to survive and thrive.
"So, this Saturday, in the run up to Christmas, and beyond, I encourage people in Denbighshire and Conwy to go out and support our high streets and local businesses. It really is a case of use them or lose them!"
