A house has been gutted by fire on the Peulwys Estate in Old Colwyn – just weeks after another serious blaze.
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service was called to Peulwys Lane yesterday at around 4.12pm.
Crews from Colwyn Bay, Llandudno, Abergele, Bangor, Holywell and Llanfairfechan attended the incident.
Neighbours reported hearing children screaming as the fire took hold, with nearby residents evacuated from their homes while firefighters dealt with the blaze.
Cartrefi Conwy said its staff were sent to the estate to support families affected by the fire.
The housing association said no injuries had been reported, although pets were reportedly lost in the blaze. There have also been reports that some people were taken to hospital with burns, but no further details have been released.
The full extent of the damage to the property was not known when the fire service issued its statement.
The incident is the second serious fire on Peulwys Lane in less than a month. A previous blaze in July involved two neighbouring properties and was later found to have been accidental.
The cause of Sunday's fire has not yet been confirmed.
