Police name local man who died in Pensarn collision

The man who sadly died following a road traffic collision in Pensarn, Abergele on Saturday night has been named.

Ieuan Richard Williams was 63-years-old and lived in the Pensarn area.

His family wish to express their sincere thanks to all members of the public and the emergency services who assisted at the scene, and they ask that their privacy is respected at this difficult time.

Sergeant Emlyn Hughes of the Roads Policing Unit said: “Our deepest condolences are with Mr Williams’ family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.

“We continue to appeal for witnesses and would like to speak to anybody who may have seen a black BMW travelling from Rhyl towards Pensarn between 9:30pm and 9:40pm to come forward. Equally, anybody with dash cam or CCTV footage is urged to contact us.

“We’d also like to thank everybody who has contacted us so far.”

The 3 individuals who were arrested following the collision – a 22-year-old man from Highbridge, a 19-year-old man from Rhyl and an 18-year-old man from Rhyl – have all been released under investigation whilst enquiries continue.
