North Wales Police have today made a statement regarding the discovery of a man's body locally.
In an update, a spokesperson said: "Shortly after 1pm on Saturday, 16 December we received calls reporting concern for the safety of a male near Old Colwyn.
"The reports related to sightings of a body, which was lying stationary at altitude close to a rockface. Attending officers were assisted by coastguard and mountain rescue teams in reaching the individual.
"Sadly, upon reaching the male, he was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and the coroner has been notified."
Police have confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious and that further enquiries into this incident remain ongoing.
