The early bird will most certainly be catching the worm next month thanks to a charity fundraising event heading to Holyhead next month.
St David’s Hospice is calling on supporters to sign up to the Anglesey Dawn Walk, taking place on Saturday 14th June. The event, which is now in its third year, will be raising funds to ensure that the charity can continue its care on the Island.
Rhian Jacobs from St David’s Hospice said, “We are delighted to be bringing this popular event back to Anglesey. The walk is a very special activity for so many, allowing them to reflect as they watch a beautiful sunrise and take in the tranquil sounds of nature – while helping to raise funds to ensure we can continue our care.”
For a registration fee of £15 for adults and £12 for children, participants can join the early morning walk, wearing their complimentary branded T-shirts, while enjoying refreshments along the way, including a hearty breakfast roll upon completion.
“The route will take our walkers through the Penrhos Nature Reserve where they can enjoy the sunrise along the coastal path. It is an uplifting start to the day and always enjoyed by all who have taken part previously.”
This year it will cost St David’s Hospice over £6m to keep its services operating across Anglesey, Gwynedd and Conwy. Fundraising events are part of the charity’s strategy to meet their financial targets.
“We are grateful to everyone who takes part in all our fundraising events to support St David’s Hospice. Their support really does make a difference to the quality of care provided by our charity.”
