A prolific shoplifter has been jailed after stealing around £200 worth of clothing from a shop in Bangor.
Thomas Aled Lloyd, of Lower Penrallt Road, Bangor, entered the JD store on Bangor High Street at around 9.35am on August 20.
The 28-year-old took four items of clothing before leaving the store without making any attempt to pay.
The incident was captured on CCTV and Lloyd was subsequently arrested and charged with theft from a shop.
He appeared before Mold Magistrates' Court on August 22, where he admitted the offence.
Lloyd was sentenced to four weeks in prison and ordered to pay £200 compensation.
The sentence also activated a suspended sentence imposed on him on August 17 for an earlier theft.
As a result, Lloyd will serve a total of 10 weeks in prison.
Sergeant Gemma Rodrigues said North Wales Police would continue working with retailers and local businesses to tackle shoplifting across Gwynedd North.
She said: “We recognise the impact retail theft not only has on businesses and their staff but also the local community.
“Our teams will continue to deal with any retail thefts robustly and look to bring offenders to justice as swiftly as possible.”
The force says it continues to support retail premises across the area as part of its work to tackle retail crime.
