A determined Rydal Penrhos pupil has completed a gruelling charity challenge from the comfort of his own home.
Noah Lewis, a Year 8 pupil at Rydal Penrhos, scaled the equivalent of Mount Kilimanjaro using stairs in his house 76 times for 28 days.
He recently managed to achieve the notable feat alongside twin sister Ruby, which involved 5, 985 metres and 31,922 steps.
They managed to raise £450 for Tearfund, an international charity who are making a concerted effort to support poorer countries during the coronavirus pandemic.
For every £120 raised Tearfund have been able to promote hygiene practices, provide food for people in quarantine and build hand-washing stations in poorer communities around the world.
Mother Susan Lewis, said: “They would like to thank all the kind and generous people who sponsored them and kept them motivated whilst they did this!”
Noah settled in very well at Rydal Penrhos since arriving as a Year 7 pupil, with the youngster particularly thriving in a Performing Arts environment.
He was part of the Dramatic Society case for the outstanding depiction of Les Miserables last year and gave a memorable contribution to the Speech and Drama Comedy night prior to the coronavirus closure.
Sally-Ann Harding, senior school head of Rydal Penrhos, added: “This was a fantastic effort from Noah and Ruby to complete this challenge to raise some much-needed funds for a very worthy cause.
“We have many pupils taking part in fundraising efforts during the coronavirus pandemic, which is a testament to their selfless attitude and dedication to making the world a better place.
"Everyone at Rydal Penrhos is enormously proud of Noah and congratulate him and his sister on their efforts.”
