St David’s Hospice are inviting you to take on this unique golfing challenge.

The nights are getting longer and the days are brighter, so it’s the perfect time to get out on the golf course! Whether you fancy yourself as a pro or a rookie, brush up on your skills and do something worthwhile for a fantastic local cause.

St David’s Hospice have teamed up with local golf clubs across Anglesey, Conwy and Gwynedd. Get your pals, your family, or your colleagues together for some friendly competition. Challenge yourself to completing 30, 40 or even 50 golf holes in just one day! If you’re celebrating a special year, why not commemorate it with a special challenge?!

Fundraising Manager at St David’s Hospice, Adrian Owen took to the challenge in 2021. Adrian and two of his friends decided to challenge themselves to 50 holes in one day to mark turning 50!

Adrian said, “We wanted to do something different and special to celebrate our 50th birthdays, and decided what better than by doing something we loved!

“In August 2021, we played 50 holes across 5 courses in a day. We set up an online fundraising page, had collecting cans on the bar and buckets on the course as we played. We managed to raise over £2,000 for St David’s Hospice.

“We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would definitely recommend it as a fundraiser! We even added a team sweep for the most birdies, I won’t tell you who lost that one though!”

So how do you get involved?

This year it is going to cost over £6.7 million to run St David’s Hospice services across North West Wales, with just a small percentage of that figure coming from the Welsh Government and Local Health Board. None of these costs are passed to the patients, families or carers, because St David’s Hospice care is free to all.
