Conwy's Carers Team together with its Community Wellbeing Team are highlighting the work of unpaid carers in the County during National Carers Week.

National Carers Week runs from 8 to 14 June, and recognises the tireless work that unpaid carers do for their loved ones. The Community Wellbeing team has put together an information pack for Carers, and has worked with partners to organise and promote a series of online events.

It’s estimated that around 10% to 15% of the population of the County have caring responsibilities. In the current circumstances, more than ever, it’s important that they know what help and support is available.

Cllr Cheryl Carlisle, Carers Champion for Conwy County Borough Council said, “As a carer myself for almost forty years, I know the struggles and pressures that carers face every day. I’m so grateful to each and every one of our carers here in Conwy County, and also the incredible work of our young carers, especially during these unprecedented times.”

On Monday the Community Wellbeing Team have linked up with the singer Rebecca Parry who is going to be doing a live performance on Facebook to show appreciation to all our amazing unpaid Carers at 2.30PM. The page can be found on Facebook @conwywellbeing.

If you want a shout out to any Carers you know or request a special song on their behalf please get in touch with the Wellbeing team via Facebook, alternatively email them at stayingwell@conwy.gov.uk
