Members of the Llandudno Lifeboat crew were joined by the local dog community to complete a walk from Llandudno Pier to the Boathouse in Craig y Don on Sunday.
Around 70 people turned out with their dogs to support the Llandudno RNLI. The walk also provided an opportunity to share a very important community safety message with dog owners.
RNLI volunteer John ‘Oggi’ Roberts one of the trainers at Llandudno explained:
"Our advice is always to keep your dog on a lead when walking close to cliff edges. If your dog gets into trouble, or you see someone in trouble in the water, call 999 or 112 and ask for the coastguard straight away. Never attempt to rescue them yourself.
"If you are planning a coastal walk I would recommend checking weather and tides, as well as telling someone where you are going and when you intend to be back."
At the Lifeboat Station John who gave a short talk on safety, while other members of the crew were on hand to talk about their volunteering duties.
Meanwhile the RNLI supporter team provided refreshments for the walkers and goodies for the dogs.
Sue Perkins who is the lead fundraiser at Llandudno said: "It was great to see so many people at the boathouse joining in the dog walk and we are delighted that over £300 was raised this morning.
"We are very grateful to them for their kind support and to the local businesses who kindly donated items for the refreshment stall and goodies for the dogs."
