Shortly after midnight yesterday morning volunteer RNLI crews for both the All-Weather Lifeboat and Inshore Lifeboat were paged by HM Coastguard to reports of a person possibly in the water off Kinmel Bay.
A thorough search was conducted by both RNLI vessels, up to a mile offshore, covering the areas from Rhyl Harbour to Pensarn.
Along with Rhyl Coastguard Rescue Team, Flint Coastguard Rescue Team and Llandudno Coastguard who searched from the shore.
The lifeboats were then stood down and headed back to the station to be recovered and were made ready for service by 4am.
Andrew Wilde, Deputy Coxswain for RNLI Rhyl says: "A potential shout for a person in the water is always a top priority. Tonight showed that, even though our assistance wasn't needed this time, it's crucial to be prepared to respond professionally and promptly to urgent situations."
