Over the past few weeks we've been covering some of the remarkable work that has happening to support our Bay of Colwyn communities as the impact of Covid-19 takes hold.
Further afield community organisations elsewhere in Conwy have also been doing some remarkable work.
As much of the world is in lockdown, Llandudno Rotary is no exception and members continue to meet “virtually” online to ensure that they can provide all the help needed at this time.
Currently the club is focusing on how to help the valiant efforts of the Llandudno Food Banks.
They have identified two that are currently operating, namely “Hope Restored” at the old Baptist Church, West Shore and Ty Hapus, which operates out of the old Ysgol John Bright Sports Hall in Cwm Road.
Rotarians Ian and Margaret have been concentrating on the “Hope Restored” Food Bank, offering a mix of food donated by friends and neighbours and that bought by £300 from Llandudno Rotary.
Rotarian Rosalind Hopewell is working with Ty Hapus using a further £300 donated by the Llandudno Rotary to buy food.
The Club is keeping the matter under review and making available whatever funds it can. The problem is that traditional fundraising ventures have stopped for now.
If you a Llandudno or Conwy based organisation and would like to help Rotary do more, please get in touch rotaryllandudno@gmail.com or simply take food or donations direct to one of these Llandudno Food Banks.
