The Idlewild Animal Sanctuary in the Conwy Valley have confirmed today that they have now closed.
A number of months ago the charity announced their closure and appealed to people to come forward to home the animals.
"This is incredibly difficult, but it is with great sadness that we inform you that Idlewild Animal Sanctuary will have to commence closing operations at its current site.
"As you will already be aware, our landlord served us notice and we have been working hard to secure a new home for the Sanctuary.
"Despite your generous donations and support, realistically we are not in a financial position to commit to a lease, or a purchase on an alternative site, before our tenancy ends.
"It’s been a painful and hard decision to make but, as always, our focus is on the well- being of our treasured animals."
The charity confirmed today that all of the animals have been moved to safe and caring homes and that the organisation has now been closed.
A statement from Idlewild said: "Thank you to all of our supporters for being there for us over the years. We and the animals will never forget you."
