Sam Hart scored his first goal for the club as the Seagulls progressed to the quarter-finals of the WBS League Cup with a 3-0 home victory over Holyhead Hotspur.

Matty Hill and Tom Creamer were also on target with their fifth goals of the campaign in a dominant Bay performance in which the winning margin could have been a lot bigger.

Holyhead keeper Paul Pritchard had to make an early save from Ryan Edwards’ low drive before Bay opening the scoring on 13 minutes with great play by Alex Downes and Cai Owen on the right set up a tap in for Matty Hill.

Stef Edwards then had a shot deflected for a corner after link up with Tom Creamer and Kristian Platt headed another chance over the bar from Owen’s free kick.

Downes and Owen linked up well again only for Alex to fire his shot high and wide, but Bay finally got their second goal right on half-time when some great one-touch football ended with Sam Hart slotting home at the near post.

In the second half Matty Hill was denied by Pritchard in a one-on-one and the Anglesey club’s keeper also made a brave save at the feet of Hill before being beaten by Tom Creamer’s header from another great cross as Bay made it 3-0 on 57 minutes,

Manager Steve Evans made four substitutions, including a welcome return from injury for Craig Lindfield, and Jamie Cumming was inches wide with a good effort after more great work by Alex Downes.

Holyhead also cleared off the line to deny Bay a fourth goal after they broke quickly from a rare Holyhead corner.

Also through to the last eight so far are Porthmadog, Chirk AAA, Trefelin, Barry Town, Taffs Well and Ynychir Albions.
