Colwyn Bay FC boss Craig Hogg has backed the decision of the FAW to end the season now, with final positions decided on a points per game system.
"There was a certain inevitability about it with the time we've all had away from the game due to the national health emergency," said Hoggy.
"For me it is probably the right call. With so many people impacted by the virus both from a health and economic view point, I feel it wouldn't have felt right to resume playing.
"On the flip side and, more so at our level pf the game, financially it would not have been viable to restart the campaign either.
"Playing behind closed doors just to fulfil fixtures would have been massively counter productive and would have starved all clubs of crucial revenue.
"As a semi-pro club we simply don't have the funds to test everyone at a frequency that would have been acceptable to guarantee people's health, so the democratic decision taken is correct for me.
What happens with promotion and relegation remains to be seen, but sporting merit should come into those decisions and it will be interesting to see if that becomes the case throughout the pyramid in Wales.
"Looking back at our return season home in Wales, I can only take what we've experienced pre-COVID as a massive positive.
"For a new group of players to work and perform the way they have and buy into what we are working towards as a club, makes me feel proud to be manager of the Bay.
"The fans, volunteers, sponsors and board members have really driven the club forward as well.
"Colwyn Bay is a people's club and so many have played such an important role together this season.
"The most pleasing thing for me, I think, is the many new faces as well as older ones returning to the 4 Crosses Arena - and that has been massive for us as a dressing room.
"That tells its own story of how people have adapted to life back in Wales and how many people have re-engaged with the club.
"The supporters club set up last summer must take so much credit for that.
"As I have said before, this season was about learning and we have accomplished that.
"I do feel we have achieved more than I thought we would do, with a top four finish and good Welsh Cup run. With the form we were in before the league was suspended I fancied us to finish in second place!
"We want to be a Cymru Premier team one day and next season (whenever that is able to start) we will be looking to finish higher again and go as close as we can to lifting the title.
"That is not a given and nor should it be. The hard work has only just started for us all at the Bay and there is much more to do.
"I want to thank everyone for getting behind the players and the club this season and whenever it is we play again, I look forward to seeing you all safe and well."
