Seagulls boss Steve Evans says he can’t wait to get the pre-season programme under way with the visit to Rhyl 1879’s Belle Vue stadium tomorrow (Saturday July 9th, 2:30pm kick off).

The Lilywhites were league and cup winners last season, lifting the Cookson Cup before securing promotion to Tier 3 of the Welsh pyramid by clinching the North Wales Coast East Premier Division championship.

They scored an incredible 116 goals in 26 games with former Bay striker Carl Lamb netting 27, and another former Bay striker, Jack Higgins, is among their pre-season signings.

They have found it tough against Cymru North opposition in their three pre-season games so far, however, losing 7-0 at Llandudno on Tuesday evening after 3-1 home defeats to Ruthin Town and Holyhead Hotspurs.

Bay will be keen to get their pre-season programme off to a good start and Steve Evans commented: “I can’t wait to finally get pre-season going against a Rhyl side who have strengthened after last season and who will provide a really good test for us.

“The work the players have done since last season has been superb. The commitment and hard work of all players and staff will be there for all Seagulls fans to see on Saturday.

“I’m really excited to get going and hopefully have a strong start to pre-season and then into the season proper.”
